Woodledge Club 

Job Summary
This is a seasonal position at Woodledge Pool Club in Glastonbury, CT. Glastonbury is a co-op pool club run and owned by its members. The facility has 5 lane swimming pool with diving board and diving well and a large baby pool.

The position is for a contracted amount but schedule of this position is part time ~10 hours a week with flexibility as we are just prepping for the season. Beginning in May, and Transitions to ~35 hours a week Mid June to End of July. Beginning in August, the schedule transitions to less hours ~16-20 hours a week.

The Operations Manager’s primary focus is managing a team of lifeguards, Pool and Grounds Operations, Weekly event and socials management and support.

While current lifeguard certification is not required for this role, previous lifeguarding and/or working in and around pools is preferred. Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification via American Red Cross.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise team of lifeguards to ensure safety, high performance and accountability.
  • Manage day to day deck operations, hours and scheduling of deck staff. Manage HR onboarding (payroll, paperwork) of employees and training (opening and closing procedures, etc) in collaboration with Woodledge Board of Directors.
  • Implement strategic plans and projects as directed by the Woodledge Board of Directors in an effort to improve operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to and enforce all club rules, bylaws, guest policies for the use of the facilities.
  • Act as the main point person in regards Weekly Club Dinner, support families, ordering necessary supplies, help with setting up and coordinating and managing local pickups.
  • Order food and maintenance items for events and day to day use.

Skills

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Background in youth programming, camps, sports coaching preferred.
  • Prior experience working with teens and children is necessary.
  • Proficient in process improvement methodologies to enhance operational workflows.
  • Strategic planning capabilities to align operations with long-term organizational goals.
