Workday
Date: Spring Workday has not yet been confirmed for 2026. There is a set amount of spots for each event based on the needs of the club.
Volunteers who register may be given individual or group onsite tasks to complete. Please be flexible. You may need to jump in on another team, especially if your team crushes your tasks faster than expected! Or as tasks arise. There will be some improvising.
Examples of tasks:
Dump Runs: This will involve laps to the dump as needed. Or laps from the upper area to the dumpster in the parking lot (bagged trash only in the dumpster). With three trucks doing laps, we are likely to always have a truck ready for waste. If any fees are incurred at the dump please save receipts, you will be reimbursed. If there’s dead time between trips feel free to jump in with another task. If you are not comfortable with trash in your truck no worries,
Deep Clean: This will involve cleaning the office, pavilion storage room, grills, pavilion, and locker rooms. We will provide basic cleaning supplies. Bring your own gloves and/or mask. Locker rooms will be power washed first, so we can start in the pavilion.
Landscaping and Leaf Removal: This will involve weeding, fixing the rock wall by the tennis courts, mulching, planting, checking outdoor lightbulbs, and whatever else is needed. Please bring work gloves, rakes, sheers, shovels, whatever you have. We will have a specific to do list ready for you. This will involve removing leaves by leaf blower and tarps. Bring them if you’ve got them. We need to clean up the upper parking lot, pool area, tennis courts, etc. This team will also clean off the driveway section by Hopewell road, so bring a push broom if you have one to get rocks/debris. If you have a ladder and can fit it in your car bring it – we will need to get the leaves out of the gutters of the pavilion.
Power washer: We only have one power washer. This will involve power washing the locker rooms first while the pool cover is being taken off. Then the pool deck, pavilion, and anything else needed. Upper tennis courts only if there is time. Nothing to bring except maybe a change of clothes!
Gravel spreading: This will involve spreading pea gravel along the walkway to the lower tennis courts. And maybe other spots as needed. And replacing a few rocks along our rock wall adjacent to the pea gravel. Bring gloves and hard rakes/hoes. (Note if the tennis court resurfacing work is still being done we may push this to next work day and turn you into general landscapers). If done early you can help mulch.
Paint Flag Pole
Tennis Courts: This will involve setting up the screens on the fence with zip ties on the upper and lower tennis courts, among other things. If you have a ladder, please bring it.
Pool Cover Removing: First we will start with removing the pool cover. If you fall in you get a free cup of coffee. Then we will work on moving lifeguard chairs, benches, rescue equipment, etc. This team can transition to one of the others as needed, as this may not take the entire time.
Day of reminders:
- Park in the lower parking lot.
- Please physically sign in when you arrive so your participation is counted.
- Bring tools, etc. based on your task. But if you have tools that might be helpful and aren’t every day items (like a pole saw), and you are comfortable, please bring those too. Put your name on everything!
Bring sunscreen, bug spray, etc. Coffee and water will be provided. - Go at your own pace, take lots of breaks, and don’t do anything you aren’t comfortable doing. If you are unable to perform your assigned task connect directly with workday leader.
